For that reason, certain restrictions are placed on medications permitted during a resident\u2019s stay.<\/p><p>The following medication classifications cannot be taken while a resident of Charle Street:<\/p><ul><li>Psychotropic drugs (drugs that effect the mind). There are three classifications- antipsychotic, antidepressant and antianxiety.<\/li><li>Prescription analgesics (pain relievers), with the exception of Ibuprofen (Advil and Motrin) and Naproxen (Aleve) either of which not combined with opiates.<\/li><li>Anti-Insomnia drugs.<\/li><\/ul><p>Certain prescription medications are permitted:<\/p><ul><li>Heart and cardiovascular related.<\/li><li>Diabetes.<\/li><li>Respiratory related \u2013Asthma, COPD and Emphysema.<\/li><li>Antibiotics*<\/li><\/ul><p>*Due to its highly contagious and dangerous nature, no one with a Staph\/MRSA infection will be\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 admitted.<\/p><p>All medications, including over-the-counter, will be kept in the office and dispensed ONLY by the Committeeman on duty.<\/p><p>In the event of an alcoholic seizure or other medical emergency, paramedic response time is approximately four minutes. Medical treatment is rendered at Hoag Hospital.
